Hunting Rules

Posted by lakehiwa on Tuesday 01 December 2009 - 20:41:14

A few reminders on hunting were included in the last newsletter. Please review the newsletter and the latest rulebook for additional information. A handy bullet range chart was included in the newsletter to emphasize the dangers in discharging firearms in a lake as populated as ours.

-According to the rulebook, the discharge of rifles or pistols on lake property is ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN.

- No shooting of squirrels, quail or game of any nature except ducks during season shall be permitted. (This means you cannot shoot doves, geese, ground animals, beavers, squirrels or domestic animals.)

Please avoid getting rules from the newsletter as it is VERY confusing and inaccurate. Refer to the LH Rules/Regulations book and always refer to the Oklahoma wildlife department if you have questions:

Copy/Paste this link to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife
http://www.wildlifedepartment.com/regulations.htm
(click on waterfowl guide)

All residents should read the rules & regulations for ALL activities beforehand to be sure what you're doing is okay.
