Please show up at your regular voting place on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 and vote for Bob Samuels for school board. I have served with him for the last four years. He is currently the president of the board and does a good job.

Call to Action! Call SBC and get on the list to install a remote to include all lake residents on DSL service!

Posted by TeriS on Tuesday 10 January 2006 - 12:20:20

Per Susan's comments on the previous article, I'm posting a request for action from Hiwassee residents to call SBC requesting an expansion of their Arcadia DSL service. At this time, if you're too many feet away from the switch on Main Street, you can't receive service! This limitation affects quite a few residents on the lake. Call them and ask to be put on the list, which will go directly to the SBC engineers, to install a remote to the DSL switch that will be inclusive of ALL lake residents.

Right now, the maxium feet from the switch ends right before the Archbalds on West Shore. I'm not sure how East Shore is affected but welcome any updates from residents on that side. I'm sure there's DSL reception problems over there too.

So CALL SBC! Do some grassroots lobbying and we'll all be able to get connected! Plus at 16.99 to start and then 27.99 after the first six months, it sure beats satellite prices!

SBC/AT&T DSL now available to Arcadia!

Yes, it's true. Well, according to SBC we can get it. And for a limited time you can get 6 months at 16.99 + tax per month. After that, they raise the costs to 27.99. I'll be testing it out the first month of January and will let you know how well it's working.
